  1. 1: Do AEE employees or teachers speak or read in Chinese?

    No, our employees and teachers only speak and read English.

  2. 2: Are all your teachers certified?

    Yes all our teachers are formally qualified TESOL/TEFL as a minimum requirement and they are experienced teachers with many years of teaching experience.

  3. 3: Are your teaching sessions just conversational with very little structure?

    No, our sessions are interactive and are carefully planned around a variety of topics, and structured for beginners, intermediate or advanced speakers.

  4. 4: Do you monitor the progress of your clients?

    Yes, we will record students’ progress and give them feedback on their strengths and which areas of their English need the most improvement.

  5. 5: Do you give homework?

    No, all learning is done during our sessions. We assess our clients’ progress during their sessions and send our clients a written report within the 24 hour period after their last session so that they can review their mistakes in their own time.

    During their session we will also recommend additional practice exercises to help them and include these in their written report.

  1. 6: Are your lessons free?

    No, our lessons are not free. We have many years of experience teaching English. We consider ourselves professional teachers.

  2. 7: Is there a registration fee?

    No, there is no registration fee.

  3. 8: What is your teaching philosophy?

    We believe that:

    • Learning can and should be enjoyable.

    • When learners are active participants they learn more and remember more.

    • It is important to provide instant correction to our clients during conversation or when they are reading to produce faster progress and improve their understanding.

    • The learning environment should be pleasant and welcoming so that all learners feel encouraged to participate.

    • Using the English learned in each lesson is more important than memorising lists of words or sentences.

  3. 11: When do I pay for a lesson?

    All clients must pay in advance of our lessons.

  1. 12: Do I need to have a camera connected to my computer so that the teacher and other students can see me?

    No, you do not. For your convenience we use a system where all students can see the teacher but the teacher cannot see the students, and students cannot see each other. But you must have a microphone and speaker system connected to your computer so that the teacher can hear you and you can hear the teacher.

  1. 13: Are you going to try to sell me things like books, CD's or DVD's?

    No, we will never try to sell you anything.

  2. 14: Is my email and personal information safe with you?

    Yes, we realize that many people can take advantage of your personal information in very harmful ways. Your email address will only be used by us to communicate directly with you. We will not sell or give your personal information to any third parties. (please see our Privacy Policy)

  3. 15: Do you use textbooks?

    No, however our lessons are carefully planned and structured according to prepared lesson plans.

  1. 16: Trial Session policy.

    All new clients who are booking a lesson for the first time must complete a trial lesson. Only one trial session is allowed per person. The trial session is for the FIRST meeting with one of our teachers to see if we are capable of satisfying your learning requirements and to evaluate your level of English. Only one trial session will be given to each person. The same learning material is used for all trial sessions, therefore, attempting to book more than one trial session will be a waste of your time and money.

  2. 17: Can I take a 20 minute lesson?

    Sorry, 20 minute lessons are for trial sessions only. We only allow one trial session per person.

  3. 18: Do you teach children?

    Yes. But we don’t teach children who are younger than 6 years old. Registration and payment for sessions for individuals 17 years old and younger must be made by an adult. All our teachers have experience teaching children.

    When booking sessions for younger learners you will be required to acknowledge that your child is at least 8 years old, by accepting our Terms and Conditions before being allowed to proceed to payment for the lesson.

We will provide you with a free consultation to discuss what you want to achieve and then tailor a specialised course that focuses on your learning requirements.

Pre-requisites for private English tuition: clients must be available for a free consultation to discuss what they want to achieve and as part of the consultation, complete a brief evaluation questionnaire that will enable us to determine their level of English comprehension.
